Johor Bahru, 16 March 2026 – Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) will organize a half-day online training titled “Energy Efficiency Financing Opportunity & Incentives” on 16 March 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The programme aims to provide participants with a comprehensive overview of financing options and incentives available for energy efficiency projects in Malaysia.

The training is designed to equip industry professionals with practical knowledge on leveraging financing schemes such as GITA, GITE, GTFS, EACG, and other initiatives. Participants will gain insights into various financing models, including direct financing, equipment financing, and Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) through Energy Service Companies (ESCOs).

In addition, the programme will explore strategies for structuring energy efficiency projects, maximizing available tax incentives, and ensuring compliance with national policies such as the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act (EECA) 2024.

The training will feature interactive sessions, expert insights, and networking opportunities with industry practitioners, financial institutions, and policy experts. Participants will also receive a certificate of completion recognizing their knowledge in energy efficiency financing and incentives.

The programme is particularly beneficial for energy managers, sustainability officers, financial managers, accountants, facility and operations managers, project developers, ESCOs, business owners, SME entrepreneurs, consultants, and academics.

The training fee is RM400 for normal registration and RM600 for HRDC participants, with 4 CDP points available. The programme is also HRDC claimable (subject to approval).

The agenda will cover key topics including energy efficiency definitions, energy-efficient appliances and technologies, policy and legislation, and the preparation of energy audit reports for financing purposes, followed by a Q&A session and networking opportunity.
