On May 20, 2025, Penerbit UTM Press hosted a memorable Meet and Greet with YBhg. Professor Emeritus Datuk Ir. Dr. Wahid bin Omar, in conjunction with the launch of his memoir, ‘Memoir Wahid Omar: 40 Tahun UTM Rimbun Bernaung.’ The event took place from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, drawing a diverse crowd from the UTM community, including students, staff, and book enthusiasts. Attendees had the unique opportunity to meet the esteemed author in person, receive signed copies of his memoir, and engage in meaningful conversations in a warm and inspiring setting. The event was organized by Penerbit UTM Press, aiming to celebrate Professor Wahid’s remarkable contributions and legacy over four decades at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Distinguished guests, including YBhg. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Kassim bin Thukiman and YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Mohd Sharil bin Abdullah, added prestige to the gathering. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as attendees queued to interact with the author, exchanging stories and reflections on academic and institutional development. The event not only honored Professor Wahid’s leadership but also inspired attendees through storytelling and the promotion of scholarly writing. The relaxed environment encouraged open dialogue, photo opportunities, and the creation of lasting memories between the author and the UTM community. Overall, the Meet and Greet served as a platform for knowledge sharing and appreciation, celebrating the impactful journey of one of UTM’s most respected figures.
