MUAR, 15 Julai 2025 – Innovation took root at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Panchor as Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) through its Innovation Centre In Agritechnology for Advanced Bioprocessing (ICA UTM), conducted an impactful ‘Program Pemindahan Ilmu’ (Knowledge Transfer Program) titled “Asas dan Praktikal Sistem Pertanian Pintar MyAgriTech”. The program, held from 7.45 am to 11.00 am, introduced the fundamentals and practical applications of smart agriculture systems to the school community.
The initiative, a key component of the Komuniti@UniMADANI project named Pemerkasaan Inovasi dan Kelestarian Pertanian Komuniti Luar Bandar (Rural Agriculture Innovation and Sustainability Empowerment – RAISE), aimed to enhance technological literacy in agriculture, aligning with the Industrial Revolution 4.0. The RAISE project, spearheaded by Prof Madya Ir. Dr. Mohamad Shukri bin Zainal Abidin, underscores UTM’s commitment to empowering rural communities through innovation and sustainable practices.
The program featured insightful sessions by En. Mohd Ridzuan Bin Johary, Managing Director of Thinker Space (M) Sdn. Bhd., and En. Mohd Nadzreen Hidayat Bin Sarjuni, a Research Officer from ICA UTM Kampus Pagoh. Their expertise provided SK Panchor’s community with a blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in modern agricultural technologies. Participants engaged in interactive sessions and witnessed live demonstrations of agricultural technologies directly on the school grounds.
The program’s approach combined education, training, and direct exposure to modern agricultural technology applications. This initiative directly supports several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). By fostering an understanding of smart agriculture, UTM is contributing to a more sustainable and technologically advanced future for local communities, as well as supporting the national agenda for technological advancement and food security. Similar programs can enhance food security and promote sustainable agriculture practices.
