JOHOR BAHRU, 25 June 2025 – A bridge between continents was built yesterday as Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) hosted a delegation of distinguished professors from Aksaray University, Turkiye, marking a significant step towards enhanced international collaboration. The courtesy visits, which took place at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, the Office of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation), UTM International, the Institute of Bioproduct Development (IBD), and the Faculty of Chemical and Energy Engineering (FKT), facilitated in-depth discussions between UTM’s senior leadership and the visiting professors, Prof. Dr. Ilker Camkerten and Prof. Dr. Ramazan Ilgun from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Aksaray University. Prof. Dr. Hesham Ali Metwally Ali El-Enshasy, Director of the Innovation Centre in Agritechnology for Advanced Bioprocessing (ICA), UTM, also played a pivotal role in these discussions.

The primary aim of the visit was to strengthen strategic partnerships between Turkiye and Malaysia, fostering interdisciplinary innovation and global engagement. The discussions highlighted the importance of leveraging each institution’s strengths to develop innovative solutions, reflecting UTM’s dedication to ‘Innovating Solutions,’ as showcased in its promotional materials. Such collaborations are expected to catalyze advancements in agricultural technology and bioprocessing, aligning with global efforts to promote sustainable development and food security. The collaboration also seeks to integrate AI technologies to improve existing models in both universities and countries, and boost the adoption of Industry 4.0.

This high-level engagement not only solidifies UTM’s position as a leading research university but also underscores its commitment to forging meaningful international partnerships that drive impactful advancements across diverse fields.
