
The ITU Asia Pacific Centre of Excellence face to face training on “Fifth Generation (5G) Technology, Opportunities and Challenges”, was successfully conducted from 15 October – 17 October 2019 at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The training workshop was organized by the Wireless Communication Centre, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia. The training was attended by 28 participants from industry, academia, and government agency.
28 participants from various industries, universities and government agency completed the programmed.
Training Course Structure
This course aims to equip participants with a multi-dimensional view of the IMT-2020, the term standardized in ITU for Fifth Generation telecommunication technology, from the perspective of technology, standards, regulation, policy, economy, society and environment. The specific objectives of the course are:
- To equip the participants with fundamental understanding of the key requirements, key capabilities and usage scenarios of 5G and the key innovations behind it;
- To guide the participants to identify the various opportunities offered by 5G;
- To provide awareness about the issues and challanges for 5G deployment.
