Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) Laboratory provides measurement facility on Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) measurement of communication devices within the frequency range of 800 MHz to 3 GHz. SAR is a measure of the rate at which energy is absorbed by the body when exposed to a radio frequency (RF) electromagnetic field. The advantages of analyzing SAR generated by, for example, cellular phones inside a human head include:
1. Verification of the compliance of phones with standards;
2. Electromagnetic solver experimentally validated gives not only reliable values of SAR, but also locations inside a human head;
3. High resolution in field evaluation could be of interest, as input data, for the analysis of thermal effects.
Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) Laboratory offers below services such as:
1. Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) Measurement
2. Dielectric Measurement
3. S-Parameter Measurement
4. Power Measurement
5. Equipment Rental
Person In-charges:
1. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Norhudah Seman (norhudah@utm.my)
2. Mr. Norhafizul Ismail (norhafizul@utm.my)
