Prof. Dr. Zainal Salam obtained his B.Sc (Electronics Engineering), M.E.E (Electrical Engineering). and Ph.D (Power Electronics), from the California State University (Chico, California), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM, Kuala Lumpur) and University of Birmingham (UK), in 1985, 1989 and 1997, respectively. He has been a lecturer for 28 years and is now the Professor in Power Electronics and Renewable Energy at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering ,UTM. He is the founder, and currently the Director of the Inverter Quality Control Center (IQCC) UTM. This facility is responsible to test PV inverters that are to be connected to the local utility grid. Prof. Zainal has authored and co-authored over 150 papers in various technical journals and conference proceedings. Since 2011, he has been the editor of IEEE TRANSACTION ON SUSTAINABLE ENERGY, (an IEEE Power and Energy Society publication) and a member of Editorial Board for the Scientific World Journal (Hindawi Publishing Corporation). Over the past two decades, Prof. Zainal has been actively contributing as reviewers to various highly reputed journals, such as IEEE Transactions Industry Applications, Industrial Electronics, Power Electronics and numerous titles from Elsevier. He represents the country as the expert for the International Energy Agency (IEA) PV Power Systems Task 13 Working Group, which focus on the reliability and performance of PV power system. Prof. Zainal is the Vice-Chair IEEE Power Electronics, Industrial Electronics and Industry Application Joint Chapter, Malaysia Section (2011-2013), Organizing Chairman for the 5th IEEE International Power Electronics and Drives Systems Conference (2005, Kuala Lumpur) and Co-organizing Chairman for the 2nd IEEE International Power and Electronics and Energy Conference (2008, Johor Bahru). He is involved in over 30 projects and consulting works on power converters, solar energy and machine control. His main research interests include all areas of design, instrumentation and control of power electronics renewable energy systems.
Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohamad Yusri Hassan

Dr Mohammad Yusri Hassan is a Adjunct Professor at Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He obtained his B.Eng. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom in 1988, M.Eng in Electrical Power Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 1994 and PhD in Power System Economics from University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom in 2004. He is the Director of Centre of Electrical Energy Systems (CEES) , UTM. He has more 24 years of experience in teaching electrical power engineering courses and supervision of more than 60 undergraduates and 20 post graduates students. He has authored and co-authored for more than 80 journal and conference papers. He has wide experiences in the area of energy consultancy. He was involved in the “National Energy Conservation Study” under the Ministry of Energy Telecom and Post, Malaysia (METP) in 1993. This project was supervised by France Energy Consultant (ADEME) and it was carried out to prepare an energy management guideline/manual for Malaysian industries. He has also served as an energy audit consultant on behalf of ISI, UTM for the industries and commercial buildings. He is a member of Institute Electrical Electronic Engineer (MIEEE), member of Institution Engineering and Technology (MIET), member of Malaysia Energy Professionals Association (MEPA), Registered Graduate Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM); Graduate Member of Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM); He is also a Working Group Member of Energy Efficiency of SIRIM and member of SIRIM Technical Committee on Energy Management. He is a Certified Energy Manager under ASEAN Energy Management Scheme (AEMAS) and Registered Electrical Energy Manager (REEM) under Energy Commission, Malaysia. He is a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia. He is also a Chartered Engineer registered with The Engineering Council United Kingdom. His research interests are Deregulated Electricity market, transmission pricing, energy efficiency and renewable energy.
Ir. Dr. Hayati Abdullah is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and currently holds the position as Director of the Centre for Teaching and Learning at the UTM Academic Leadership, UTMLead. Ir. Hayati specialises in Thermodynamics, more particularly in the area of Air-Conditioning and Energy Management. She was trained in Energy Management in Sweden and is a Certified Energy Manager. She is also a Registered Electrical Energy Manager with the Energy Commission Malaysia. Her working experiences include serving as consultants for numerous local energy intensive industries as well as collaboration with international energy management consultants from Japan and ADEME, France. Ir. Hayati is a Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate registered with the Board of Engineers, Malaysia and a Chartered Engineer registered with The Engineering Council, United Kingdom. Ir. Hayati is also a registered ASEAN Engineer. She was conferred the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations (AFEO) Honorary Member in 2016. She is a Fellow of The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) and a Fellow of The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology, United Kingdom. She is also a Member of IEEE, USA. Ir. Hayati is a Past Chairman of IEM (Southern Branch). She was also a former Board Member of the Board of Engineers, Malaysia. Ir. Hayati received the prestigious National Academic Award for the Teaching of Engineering in 2010 and IEM Woman Engineer Award in 2015.
Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Md Pauzi Abdullah

Ir. Dr. Md Pauzi Abdullah is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He is currently the Senior Director at the Institute of Future Energy (IFE), UTM. He is a Chartered Engineer registered with the Engineering Council, United Kingdom, a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and a Certified Energy Manager registered with the ASEAN Energy Management Scheme (AEMAS). He is also a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, USA (SMIEEE) and a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (MIEM). He received the bachelors degree (B.Eng) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Universiti Tenaga Nasional (Uniten), Malaysia in 2002, masters degree (M.Sc) in Electrical Power Engineering and doctorate degree (Ph.D) from University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, United Kingdom in 2003 and 2008 respectively. He has authored and co-authored more than 70 papers in various technical journals and conference proceedings. To date, a total of 3 PhD and 4 Master by research students had graduated under his supervision. His research interests include power systems analysis, systems security, deregulated electricity market and demand-side management. He actively involved in various professional organizations such as the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Malaysia and Power and Energy Society (PES) Malaysia. He was the Chair of student activities for IEEE Malaysia from 2012-2015 and was the Chair (2017-2018), Vice Chair (2015-2016), Secretary (2012-2013), Executive Committee (2011,2014) for PES Malaysia. Currently, he is the Chair-Elect for IEEE Malaysia Section (2019-2020).

Ts. Ir. Dr. Dalila Mat Said is a Associate Professor at Centre of Electrical Energy Systems, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). She is currently the Director at the Centre of Electrical Energy systems (CEES), Institute of Future Energy (IFE), UTM. She obtained her B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering in 2000, M.Eng in Electrical Engineering in 2003 and PhD in Power Quality in 2012 from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. She has 10 years of experience in teaching electrical engineering courses and supervision of more than 20 undergraduates, and 10 post graduate’s students. She has an experience within the area of power quality consultancy. She was involved in the Power Quality Baseline Study in a Peninsular Malaysia (2010-2013) under the Energy Commission of Malaysia. She is a member of Institute Electrical Electronic Engineer (MIEEE), Registered Graduate Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and a Graduate Member of Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM). Her research interests are power quality and power system measurement and monitoring.
Ts. Dr. Norzanah Rosmin is a Associate Professor at Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. She is currently the Deputy Director at the Centre of Electrical Energy Systems (CEES), Institute of Future Energy (IFE), UTM. She is also one of the Certified Energy Manager (C.E.M) in Malaysia. She received the bachelor degree (B.Eng) and master degree (M.E.E) in Electrical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 1999 and 2002, respectively. Then, she received doctorate degree (Ph.D) in renewable energy at Loughborough University of Loughborough, Leicestershire, United Kingdom in 2015. She has 15 years of experience in teaching electrical engineering courses and supervision of more than 40 undergraduate, and 6 postgraduate students. She is a member of Institute Electrical Electronic Engineer (MIEEE), Registered Graduate Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and a Graduate Member of Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM). Her research interests include alternative/renewable energy, RE management system, RE management and integration system, demand side management, and power system.
Dr. Chee Wei Tan received his B.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering (First Class Honors) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), in 2003 and a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Imperial College London, London, U.K., in 2008. He is currently an associate professor at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and a member of the Power Electronics and Drives Research Group, Faculty of Electrical Engineering as well as an associate member with the Centre of Electrical Energy Systems (CEES). His research interests include the application of power electronics in renewable/alternative energy systems, control of power electronics and energy management system in microgrids. He is also a Chartered Engineer registered with Engineering Council, UK, a professional engineer registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia and a professional technologist registered with Malaysia Board of Technologists. He is actively participating in IEEE activities and conferences, which he was also the chair of the IEEE Power Electronic Society (PEL) Malaysia Chapter for year 2018. He was awarded the Malaysia Research Star Award (High Impact Paper – Engineering and Technologies) 2018 by the Ministry of Education Malaysia.

Syed Norazizul Bin Syed Nasir received the B.Eng. (Hons) degree in electrical engineering in 2008, M.Eng. degree in electrical (power) engineering in 2014 and PHD in electrical (power) engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Johor Bahru, Malaysia. He is currently Electrical Engineer at Tenaga Nasional Berhad. His current research interests include power system optimization and power system stability, harmonic mitigation and their control methods.
Dr. Siti Maherah bt Hussin is a Senior Lecturer at Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Johor Bahru. She received her Bachelor of Electrical Engineering in 2009 with first class honours, Master of Engineering (Electrical-Power) in 2011 and PhD in Coordinated Generation and Transmission Maintenance Scheduling Using Mixed Integer Linear Programming from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Her research interest is in Generation Maintenance Scheduling.
