DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE
Bismillahirahmanirahim,
In the name of Allah, the Almighty.
Alhamdulillah. It is my responsibility becoming a new director of Centre for Sustainable Nanomaterials, or it is well-known as CSNano. My education background is chemistry (BSc (Industrial Chemistry), MSc (Chemistry), PhD (Chemistry)) and all of my tertiary level of educations are from Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. My main affiliate is Department of Biosciences, Faculty of Science, UTM and because of this, my research expertise is applied materials science for biological and medical areas. I am professional chemist (ChM) under Malaysian Institute of Chemistry and Chartered Chemist (CChem) under Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), UK. Being a director for CSNano, my main aim for this centre is to lead a re-known centre for research and development in sustainable nanomaterials area nationally and globally.
CSNano is under Ibnu Sina Institute for Scientific and Industrial Research (ISI-SIR), UTM and the mission is to grow into a centre-of-excellence for conducting advanced research, development, and demonstration of fundamental and applied science research in materials sciences for the global impact. Our main R&D is focusing on sustainable nanomaterials where the development of nanomaterials are based on sustainable approaches and also, the sustainable application of nanomaterials.
The research areas in CSNano includes but not limited to heterogeneous catalysts, porous nanomaterials, supramolecular functional nanomaterials, nano/molecular photochemistry, biomaterials, green biosynthesis nanoparticles, semiconductor nanostructures, analytical science, separation chemistry, organometallic chemistry, physics of low dimensional structure, quantum chemistry and Fussy modelling.
Beside R&D, our aim include dissemination of knowledge related to nanotechnology, nanomaterials, nanoparticles, nanocomposite etc. and their application in various fields. CSNano will grab possible opportunities and works together in various partnership in enhancing our fields and fostering the growth of nanomaterials at national levels as well as international levels.
