The XRD Workshop for Pharmaceuticals: Principles, Practice & Application will provide participants with in-depth exposure to the principles, practices, and applications of X-ray Diffraction (XRD) in the pharmaceutical industry.

This one-day workshop will cover oversight and compliance of pharmaceutical solids in generics, introduce fundamental and advanced XRD techniques, highlight practical applications in quality control and research, and feature a special session on sulphated ashing in pharmaceuticals. A live demonstration of the Rigaku Miniflex 600C, including sample measurement and data analysis, will give participants hands-on experience with state-of-the-art instrumentation.

The program will be enriched by talks from Assoc. Prof. ChM. Dr. See Hong Heng (UTM Johor Bahru), an award-winning researcher and expert on nitrosamines in pharmaceuticals; Dr. Muhammad Firdaus Omar (UTM Johor Bahru), a specialist in XRD analysis of active pharmaceutical ingredients; Mr. Kuzumaki (Rigaku Corporation, Japan), who brings expertise in HRXRD applications for epitaxial layers and crystalline analysis; and Ms. Gail Ng (CEM Corporation), a technical product specialist with extensive experience in microwave technology for safe and efficient sulphated ashing.
