RESEARCH CENTRE
The research centres at iHumEn focus on advancing human-centered engineering and technology through multidisciplinary innovation. These centres specialise in areas such as cardiovascular engineering, medical devices, digital media and gaming, sports technology, rehabilitation, and health informatics. Their research supports industrial collaboration, technology commercialisation, and the development of solutions that improve healthcare, education, and quality of life.
IJN-UTM Cardiovascular Engineering Centre
(IJN-UTM CEC)
Established in 2013 with a collaboration between Institut Jantung Negara (National Heart Institute) and UTM. It was launched by Y.A.B. Tan Sri Dato’ Muhyiddin Hj. Mohd. Yassin, emerges with sustainable innovation and solution for cardiovascular patient care including the development of vascular patch, rehabilitation apps, AI management system, implant technology, telerobotic, and telecardiology.

Media and Game Innovation Centre of Excellence
(MaGICX)
Established in 2013, MaGICX is a strategic platform to support and promote the development and ecosystem of creative industry that focuses on gamification and enrichment of digital content. MaGICX’s credits include projects related to AR, VR, image processing, computer vision, multimedia software engineering, medical computing, computer interaction, human interface, usability, animation and technology, visualization, multimedia and software innovation, and emerging technology.

Medical Devices and Technology Centre
(MEDiTEC)
Officially established on 12 February 2019 to lead in research and development as well as producing local medical devices product in fulfilling the government key focus in health care. The area of interests include orthopedic implant technology, medical informatics, bio-instrumentation, and dental implant. Thus, the Centre aimed to be champion in research, development and commercialization of medical implants and their related technologies.

Sports Innovation Technology Centre
(SITC)
Sports Innovation Technology Centre (SITC) is an internationally renowned research center for research and consultancy, with over 4 years of cumulative experience. This Center offers interdisciplinary pursuits in this emerging field where engineering techniques and technologies from various disciplines are used to address needs in particularly sport industries. Here the Center laid its foundation for developing sports technology as a field of academic study.
