Dr. Muhamad Zulhilmi bin Zailani

Niche Area : Biomedical, Biomaterial

Dr. Muhamad Zulhilmi Zailani is a Research Officer at the Sports Innovation and Technology Centre (SITC) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Born and raised in Johor Bahru, he pursued his academic by earning a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). His academic journey continued at UTM, where he obtained both his master’s degree and PhD, the latter in 2022. Prior to his current role at SITC, Dr. Zulhilmi continues to contribute to scientific advancement as a post-doctoral research fellow at the Advanced Membrane Technology Research Centre (AMTEC) at UTM. His work bridges the gap between biomedical science and environmental sustainability, making significant strides in both fields. Dr. Zulhilmi’s research primarily focuses on the development of biocompatible materials for biomedical applications, with a particular emphasis on hemodialysis. His expertise extends to the innovative development of hybrid enzymatic/photocatalytic membranes, which are instrumental in the reclamation of industrial wastewater.
