KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 5 – The Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Kuala Lumpur successfully conducted Part 3 of the ‘Rigorous Research in Engineering Education 2024’ workshop series, focused on ‘Publication in Engineering Education.’ This event took place on February 4-5, 2025, in the Sakura Room on Level 4 of MJIIT, UTM Kuala Lumpur, with the aim of equipping researchers and academics with essential skills in scholarly writing and publication processes within the field of engineering education.

The two-day workshop provided valuable insights into the academic publishing process, guiding participants through various stages of manuscript preparation and submission to reputable journals and conferences. The session began with a du’a recital, followed by an informative presentation by Prof. Dr. Fatin Aliah Phang titled “Making Sense of the Research Findings. ” She offered strategies for effectively interpreting and structuring research findings.

After a morning break, Dr. Nurzal Effiyana Ghazali led an engaging session on “Opportunities to Publish in Engineering Education,” introducing participants to high-impact journals, submission criteria, and key considerations for successful publication. The afternoon continued with a presentation by Dr. Nor Farahwahidah Abd. Rahman on “Engineering Education Paper Structure,” highlighting the importance of clarity and coherence in academic writing. The day wrapped up with a reflection on the key takeaways.

The second day began with Dr. Nurzal Effiyana Ghazali and Dr. Nor Farahwahidah Abd. Rahman guiding participants through examples of engineering education papers, analyzing best practices and paper structures.
