Synopsis:
Robots play an important role in Industry 4.0, or the 4th Industrial Revolution. Robotic systems allow more flexibility in automation and assisting data exchange in manufacturing. Proper implementation of the robotic systems for Industrial 4.0 brings forth many benefits, including higher revenue and increased efficiency. However, robotic implementation has its unique challenges and with the current Covid-19 pandemic, will there be more resistance or will new opportunities open up? This talk focuses on both the challenges and opportunities of robotics in Malaysia for Industrial 4.0, and in particular during this Covid-19 situation. The talk will cover the general introduction to industrial robotics, followed by in depth discussion, with some case studies, of robotic implementation in Malaysia.
