The cosmeceuticals and aromatherapy unit at IBD was established to innovate and create more scientific-backed skincare and plant-based therapeutic products in the local market of Malaysia. By integrating scientific research into natural product development, the unit focuses on innovating evidence-based formulations which incorporate bioactive compounds and essential oils that are effective, safer and sustainable. The unit also explores local bioactive compounds as a sustainable source of novel ingredients for health, beauty, and wellness applications with the goal of popularising local ingredients and products globally.
