In 11 May 2021, the webinar on 3D Structural and Mechanical Properties of Trabecular Bone Study by Micro-Computed Tomography and Finite Element Modelling was hosted by Medical Devices and Technology Centre (MEDiTEC) and co-organized by Hi-Tech Instruments Sdn. Bhd (HTI), also the Distributor of Scanco Medical. The event was successfully conducted virtually and broadcasted through official MEDiTEC, and iHumEn Facebook live.
Ts. Zulfadli Zakaria, the Research Officer of MEDiTEC, moderated the event.
It began with the opening address by Mr. Lai Ming Soon, the Division Sales Manager of HTI, while the invited speaker, Assoc. Prof. Dr Ardiayansyah Syahrom, the Director of MEDiTEC, and Dr Lim Fei Ting, the Senior Application Specialist of HTI, delivered the sharing session on the webinar. The main focus of organizing the webinar is to share the effective ways of using Micro-CT in research, disclose the topic of mechanics and nutrient transport in trabecular bone, receive feedback, and provide solutions to the limitation and problems students may face.
The event was attended by almost 50 participants, including academic staff, postgraduate students, and medical device industry representatives who mainly use Micro-CT in their research and industry development. It is hoped that this insightful webinar will motivate the researchers, industry players and all the MEDiTEC members to have a clear and thorough understanding of the addressed topic to perform better in their respective disciplines and area of expertise.
