A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between MaGICX and UTM Space was successfully signed on 7 April 2021. The objective of having an MOA is to have mutual support, collaboration, and understanding from both partners in developing a leading research centre. UTM was represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Yazid bin Idris, Director of MaGICX, whereas UTMSPACE was represented by Assoc. Prof. Sr. Dr. Zakaria bin Mohd Yusof, Director of Continuing Education UTMSPACE.
MaGICX, which stands for Media and Game Innovation Centre of Excellence, a strategic initiative by UTM (Universiti Teknologi Malaysia) to support and promote the development and ecosystem of the creative industry that focuses on gamification and enrichment of digital content.
UTMSPACE is limited by guarantee (CLBG) under the Malaysian Companies Act 1965. It is responsible for marketing UTM academic programmes (with MQA accreditation) run by the School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPACE), one of the UTM schools. Being an approved HRDF training provider, UTMSPACE also offers executive and professional programmes as homegrown products or in collaboration with reputable partners from the industry.
This strategic cooperation enables the sharing and exchange in knowledge, idea, and insights between both MaGICX and UTMSPACE, in the effort to create a collaborative academic, research and expertise partnership especially in the field of New Industrial Revolution.
