Media and Game Innovation Centre of Excellence (MaGICX), a potential research centre at the Institute of Human Centered Engineering (iHumEn), successfully organized an interactive exhibition in conjunction with the visit of the German-Malaysia Institute (GMI), Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), and UTM SPACE.

This interactive exhibition received about 12 participations; 5 of them came from GMI, three representatives from the Faculty of Science, UTM, and 5 participants from UTM SPACE. The participants were warmly welcomed to the exhibition held at MaGICX UIRL building, Block T03, UTM. MaGICX does not miss the opportunity to share the Industry 4.0 technologies, including Augmented Reality (AR) & Virtual Reality (VR), with all participants.

Specifically, AR technology is an interactive experience of a real-world environment. The objects that reside in the real world are enhanced by computer-generated perceptual information, sometimes across multiple sensory modalities, including visual, auditory, haptic, somatosensory, and olfactory. In other words, AR is an enhanced version of the physical world achieved through digital visual elements, sound, or other sensory stimuli delivered via technology.

The application of VR clearly can be observed in the current era. VR also can be applied as a learning platform. VR learning uses problem-solving, visualization, decision-making, and other elements to enhance the learning experience. It provides a safe learning environment as it is only natural that mistakes happen during learning. Therefore, VR simulations allow people to learn in a safe, controlled environment. Hence, VR can improve education by providing students with memorable and immersive experiences that would otherwise be impossible and can be easily monitored by teachers.

This interactive exhibition and visit could be one of the initiatives for MaGICX and iHumEn to create an environment that contributes toward talent development, industry promotion, knowledge-sharing, and international collaboration, especially for projects related to AR and VR.
