Dr Syafiqah Saidin, Director of IJN-UTM Cardiovascular Engineering Centre (IJN-UTM CEC), one of the research centres at the Institute of Human Centered Engineering (iHumEn), has managed to secure RM20,000 consultation training. It requires her to deliver several competency training programs at EPI Academy Sdn. Bhd. to hospital staff and healthcare-related companies.
EPI Academy Sdn. Bhd. is a training academy company that provides service in professional training programs in the areas related to healthcare engineering, technology, and management. The competency training programs are certified nationally and internationally by Eastwood Park Academy, ISO 17024 Department of Standards Malaysia (DSM), City & Guild, Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp), and Medical Device Authority (MDA). A 24 hours consultation training program was delivered in Anatomy and Physiology for six sessions, and an 11 hours program on Basic Medical Devices for a session.
The consultation training was conducted from February until May 2022, through online and physical modes to mostly staff from Radicare (M) Sdn. Bhd., Medivest Sdn. Bhd., Bell Comm Technologies Sdn. Bhd., to enhance their competency in the working field. This consultation training moves towards a memorandum of understanding (MOU) and memorandum of agreement (MOA) signing between both parties, EPI Academy Sdn. Bhd. and UTM.
Securing a consultation project from the industry symbolizes the trust toward competency of Dr Syafiqah in her expertise as it provides an added value for both sides. It is leveraging IJN-UTM CEC and iHumEn to a more significant high to be a premier global academic and research institution, excelling in human-centered engineering and technology with the outstanding performance and impactful contribution from its members and research fellow.
