The importance of safety and health audits cannot be overstated, as they play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and protection of employees, the environment, and an organisation’s overall sustainability. The half-day employee safety and health award audit (AKKP) 2022 was scheduled for iHumEn on 15 May 2023. The auditing process was done with the line-up panel of auditors led by Assoc. Prof Dr Mohamad Wijayanuddin Ali, Director of OSHE, Head of Panel; Dr Norafneeza Norazahar, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Chemical Engineering; Dr Mohammad Sya’rani Najmuddin, Medical Officer, UTM Health Centre; Ts. Mohd Faizal Bin Wakiman, Engineer, PHB; Mrs Siti Fawziah Mohd Noor, Science Officer, OSHE.
The event commenced with an opening address delivered by the respected Director of MEDiTEC, Assoc Prof Dr Ardiyansyah Syahrom, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohamad Wijayanuddin Ali, Director of OSHE, Head of Panel. Afterward, the extensive auditing process started, including checking of documents and detailed site inspections.
An interactive question and answer session followed, facilitating in-depth conversations and presentations with the auditing team. The primary objective of safety and health audits is to identify potential hazards and risks within the workplace. By assessing the safety protocols and practices, organizations can implement necessary measures to prevent accidents, injuries, and illnesses, ultimately promoting a safer work environment for employees. Also, to help organizations adhering to local, regional, and national laws and regulations governing workplace safety.
