The Department of Biomedical Engineering and Health Sciences (DBEHS) of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, in collaboration with the Institute of Human Centered Engineering (iHumEn), is organizing a hands-on experience on evacuation and fire drill at a workstation on August 22, 2023. This initiative aims to promote awareness and preparedness regarding unforeseen fire emergencies in the workplace. The event’s primary objective is to equip individuals with the necessary skills to respond safely and calmly in a fire emergency. Participants will engage in practical exercises to learn self-rescue procedures, swift and safe evacuation protocols, and effective execution of evacuation plans. The event highlights the importance of maintaining composure during critical situations and emphasizes the safety of oneself and others in the workplace.
The program’s primary goal is to educate attendees on correctly using fire prevention equipment. Participants will learn how to responsibly handle fire safety tools and equipment, emphasizing safety protocols to prevent accidents. This proactive approach enhances workplace safety standards by ensuring all safety apparatus is in optimal working condition.Through interactive drills and simulations, participants can gain hands-on experience utilizing fire safety equipment, fostering confidence and competence in handling such tools.
