Prof. Dr. Mohd Shahrizal Sunar was invited as the Keynote Speaker of the INTETAIN 2019: 11th EAI International Conference on Intelligent Technologies for Interactive Entertainment. This conference was held on, 6 December 2019 at Braga, Portugal.
In his speech, he stated that among the primary technology pillars of 4th Industrial Revolution are augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). The technology has already reached the consumers with the mature development of software and hardware.
Although AR and VR are the technologies reserved for hardcore gamers, many have realized its significant potential in a wide range of industries, from the military up to the healthcare corporation. With the advancement of software and hardware, the technology is now already reached to consumers and will be widely used, not only in real business but also for entertainment. Recently, more applications and contents have been developed for AR/VR across industries, from training to marketing.
He also emphasized in his keynote speech, the trends, challenges and research gap in the on-going development of AR and VR, worldwide.
