On July 19, 2023, the IJN-UTM Cardiovascular Engineering Centre welcomed a delegation from the Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) in Indonesia for a benchmarking visit. Ten delegates from IPB attended the visit, including Prof. Dr. Anuraga Jayanegara, the Director, and Dr. Mokhamad Fakhrul Ulum, Assistant Director of Academic Reputation. The IJN-UTM CEC was led by Director Dr. Syafiqah Saidin and her team members, Dr. Norhana Jusoh, Deputy Director of Medical Devices and Technology Centre (MEDiTEC) and Ts. Dr. Siti Zulaija Hanapi, Research Officer of the Research Alliance of Health & Wellness, warmly welcomed their esteemed guests.A benchmarking visit is significant in fostering collaboration, innovation, and knowledge exchange within academic and research communities.The primary aim of this visit to IJN-UTM CEC is to explore possibilities for potential research collaboration and to facilitate a sharing session focused on grants and publications.
This visit provides an excellent opportunity for both institutions to benefit from each other’s strengths, resources, and expertise. They allow the formulation of joint research projects that significantly enhance the scope and impact of academic endeavours. During these visits, sharing sessions on grants and publications are held, where delegates discuss their experiences and insights regarding successful strategies for securing grants, navigating the publication process, and disseminating research findings effectively. This way, the collective knowledge base is enriched, and a collaborative framework is established for addressing shared challenges and advancing scholarly contributions.This benchmarking visit successfully generated synergy, propelling academic and research communities towards more outstanding excellence.
