IJN-UTM CEC extends a Warm Welcome to the Distinguished Visiting Professor from Jeonbuk National University, South Korea
Prof. Dr. Hak Yong Kim, graced IJN-UTM CEC with his presence for six days, from the 8th to the 13th of January, 2023. His visit aimed to enhance the ongoing project centred around developing a PI vascular graft, employing the innovative electrospinning technique. The project was subject to comprehensive discussions that took place at the IJN-UTM Cardiovascular Engineering Centre (IJN-UTM CEC), led by Dr. Syafiqah Saidin, the Director of IJN-UTM CEC alongside her dedicated research team.
In addition to the project discussions, Prof. Dr. Hak Yong Kim captivated the audience with an enlightening open talk titled ‘Robust Multifunction-Integrated Carbon Nanodots for Sensing, Bioimaging, and Optoelectronic Devices’. The speech garnered enthusiastic participation from a diverse audience, including undergraduates, postgraduates, researchers, and academic staff. This interaction provided a platform for attendees to grasp the intricacies of the subject matter and envision how their contributions could align with the research frontiers.
Further enriching his visit, Prof. Dr Hak Yong Kim explored various laboratories at the research centres, including IJN-UTM CEC, Medical Devices and Technology Centre (MEDITEC), Media and Game Innovation Centre of Excellence (MaGICX), and Sports Innovation Technology Centre (SITC). He actively engaged in multiple research meetings throughout his stay. His visit contributed to the academic exchange and fostered collaborative insights across disciplines. It was a testament to the power of knowledge dissemination and its ability to transcend boundaries, inspire minds, and propel the collective pursuit of understanding.
