The IJN-UTM Cardiovascular Engineering Centre (IJN-UTM CEC) aims to achieve excellence and become a leader in cardiovascular engineering. To achieve this goal, IJN-UTM CEC has successfully initiated a potential collaboration with SRM Institute of Technology, Chennai, India, on 27th July 2023. The event was attended by Dr Ahmad Zahran bin Khudzari, a Research Fellow of IJN-UTM CEC, Dr Mohd Fitri Yakub from Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), UTM Kuala Lumpur, and Prof. Dr G. Niranjana, the representative of SRM Institute of Technology.During the sharing session, the focus was establishing possible research collaboration between both parties. Collaboration in research is essential as it brings together diverse perspectives, expertise, and resources from multiple individuals or institutions. Researchers can approach problems from various angles through interdisciplinary collaboration, leading to more comprehensive and impactful solutions.
Collaborative research is essential in enhancing the quality and impact of scholarly work. It promotes rigorous peer review and validates findings through diverse perspectives. Collaborative research also facilitates the dissemination of knowledge by resulting in joint publications and presentations that reach a broader audience. Moreover, it enables the pooling of resources such as funding, facilities, and data, which maximizes efficiency and broadens the scope of research projects. For IJN-UTM CEC, this research collaboration is excellent as it presents a golden opportunity for the centre to contribute and stand as a cornerstone of scientific progress and innovation. Collaborative research is pivotal in advancing knowledge and addressing complex challenges while impacting society and the nation.
