On September 19, 2023, a virtual discussion was held to sign the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Medical Device Authority (MDA) of the Ministry of Health in Malaysia. This discussion was successfully hosted via the Google Meet platform by the Medical Device and Technology Centre (MEDITEC). Delegates from MDA, including Mrs Salbiah Yaakop, Mrs Nashirah Naiimi, and Mrs Shamala Nagarajoo, attended the discussion. The MEDiTEC members who participated were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ardiyansyah Syahrom, Prof. Dr. Rubita Sudirman, Dr. Norhana Jusoh, and Mr. Zulfadzli Zakaria. The discussion was insightful and productive.
During the meeting, the primary objectives were to discuss progress and finalize the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) details between Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and MDA. The essential agenda items included reviewing the current status of the MoA draft and ensuring that all pertinent points and requirements have been addressed. Also, further talks were made to align the date for the formal signing ceremony between UTM and MDA, which is essential for both parties.The meeting concluded positively, with a consensus on the necessary revisions to be made in the MoA draft. The commitment to a collaborative and mutually beneficial partnership between UTM and MDA was evident throughout the discussions. The meeting served as a vital step forward in solidifying the partnership between both parties, setting the stage for impactful collaborations in medical device technology.
