Medical Devices and Technology Centre (MEDiTEC), a renowned research centre at the Institute of Human Centered Engineering (iHumEn), has collaborated with the Health and Wellness of Research Alliance of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) to successfully hosted the virtual International Symposium on Biomedical, Biorefinery, and Energy Security (I-BES 2022) on 19th – 21st June 2022. This event was also coÂ-organized with excellent collaboration from Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), Surabaya, Indonesia.
The I-BES 2022 was officially officiated by YBhg. Prof. Datuk Ir. Ts. Dr Ahmad Fauzi Ismail, Vice Chancellor of UTM. Among the VIPs who attended during the opening ceremony were Prof Dr Tjitjik Sri Tjahjandarie, Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology, Prof Dr Mohamad Nasih, Rector UNAIR, Prof. Dr Ni Nyoman Tri Puspaningsih, Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation, and Community Development, UNAIR, and Prof. Dr Rosli Md llias, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and Innovation, UTM.
The establishment of I-BES 2022 is to intensify the dissemination of knowledge, information sharing, and the proliferation of ideas among academics to discuss the latest developments and directions related to education and research collaboration in the Biomedical field, Biorefinery, and Energy Security. Secondly, to expand the collaborative relationship between the two institutions to provide an up-to-date and high-impact research platform through joint grant application initiatives at the international level.
The remarkable I-BES 2022 successfully received about 100 participations locally and globally. The recorded session of I-BES 2022 can be watched at the Department of DVCRI UTM’s official You Tube Channel.
