Media and Game Innovation Centre of Excellence (MaGICX) in collaboration with the School of Professional and Continuing Education (UTM SPACE), has successfully delivered high-impact professional training on virtual reality (VR) application to the Royal Air Force of Oman from 21-23 September 2022 at Residensi UTM Kuala Lumpur.
The high-rank officers from the Royal Air Force of Oman participated in the three days of professional training on VR applications for defence technology. The military, which consists of the army, navy, and air force, has adopted virtual reality (VR) and uses it for training. This is especially helpful when preparing soldiers for combat or other hazardous situations when they must learn how to react appropriately.
The high-rank officers from the Royal Air Force of Oman participated in the three days of professional training on VR applications for defense technology. Military personnel can engage in a wide variety of simulations with VR without incurring related costs, drastically cutting training budgets. Virtual reality (VR) may immerse a learner in a variety of settings, circumstances, or scenarios, and it can be used to impart knowledge, develop skills, and offer a priceless experience that will be helpful when needed in the real world.
Another application is for soldiers and other relevant individuals to wear virtual reality glasses during combat visualizations, which gives the impression of a three-dimensional depth. The outcomes of this might be disseminated among a huge workforce. It was a golden opportunity for MaGICX and UTM SPACE in aspiring to create an environment that contributes toward talent development, industry promotion, knowledgeÂ-sharing, and international collaboration.
