Few weeks before the MCO, Medical Device and Technology Center (MEDiTEC) was invited by the Ministry of Health to collaborate and become a member in the National initiative to create and develop implants using 3D printing technology. The committee will be spearheaded by the National Institute of Health (NIH), and will include other government bodies, universities and industries.

This initiative will help Malaysia to become the producer of implants and will help to reduce the cost of implants. At the same time, to be more innovative in customizing implants depending on user requirements i.e. the requirements of patients and orthopedics as well.
