A day comprehensive, structured course on introductory motion analysis has been held on 12 April 2021, organized by Sports Innovation & Technology Centre (SITC), and jointly supported by the Institute of Human Centered Engineering (iHumEn). The course was held at Motion Analysis Laboratory, Block V01, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Johor Bahru.
The primary goal of this program is to provide the foundation and basic knowledge related to “Motion Analysis” systems available in UTM. It includes theory and a practical introduction to the system’s procedures and techniques. This course is essential for researchers interested in using this system. The undergraduates, postgraduates, and lecturers using the VICON and Delsys systems for their study have attended this course.
The fellow participant was given a series of insightful lectures, including Motion Analysis Technology and Electromyography, followed by lecture and demonstration addresses on Introduction to Antrophmetric Measurement and Marker Placement, Introduction to Recording Procedure, and a hands-on session.
This course could be a great effort as SITC is one of the renowned centres under iHumEn responsible for offering training for interdisciplinary pursuits in this emerging field where engineering techniques and technologies from various disciplines are used to address needs in the research expertise.
