The Institute of Human Centered Engineering (iHumEn) is one of the excellent research institutes in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), provides industrial training for candidates to complete their home training courses set.
Students are generally placed for a minimum of twenty (20) weeks in a professional organization to experience and apply their theoretical knowledge in a practical environment. Also, to train them with a new exposure in every aspect of career life, including social and networking, communication, leadership, culture, interaction, and actual working environment. Recently, iHumEn has accepted seven industrial training students from various universities, including the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and Politeknik Ibrahim Sultan.
During the internship period, students were able to improve their awareness and skills of a single particular technology. In addition, students were also exposed to the managing and operation of providing quality services from the latest research and facilities. It cultivates the students’ leadership ability and gives them the responsibility to execute and perform the given task.
For iHumEn, it is believed that the industrial training program could train the students to gain knowledge through hands-on observation, job execution, and the feel of the actual working environment. In addition, they will be motivated, developed, and build on their confidence by learning work ethics, communication, management skills, and other skills.
