UTM has proven that prevention of the COVID-19 virus is extremely important. It is evident that UTM has supported this action by providing transportation facilities for students to return to their hometowns. All student’s activities were cancelled to prohibit them from attending seminar or gathering, that involves a large number of people. Besides, all teaching and learning were required to be conducted online.
For security purpose, the UTM Security Department has ensured that all staff, students and visitors whose entering and exiting the campus are constantly monitored to facilitate UTM in tracking all campus visitors.
The COVID-19 outbreak prevention activities were also supported by university’s community with the involvement and contribution of staff in producing large number of home-made PPEs, hand sanitizers and medical devices to UTM and Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM) frontliners.
Besides, the home-made hand sanitizers and face protectors were also supplied to university’s frontline staff such as security guards, medical staff and friends at residential colleges.
iHumEn too, is adapting to the COVID-19 pandemic. Various programs have been organized by iHumEn throughout and after the Movement Control Order (MCO) period. Forums, sharing sessions and videos of alternative ways to workout at home, have been shared by iHumEn. The goal of the initiatives is, to continuously educate the community and to share precious knowledge from iHumEn experts.
