It was privileged for Dr. Syafiqah Saidin, Director of IJN-UTM Cardiovascular Engineering Centre (IJN-UTM CEC), and Prof. -Ing. Dr. Eko Supriyanto, a research fellow at IJN-UTM CEC was sponsored by Erasmus+ Mobility Program to have a research visit at the Technische Universitate llmenau (TUil), and international industry engagement in Germany.
IJN-UTM CEC is one of the research centres at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), under the management of the Institute of Human Centered Engineering (iHumEn) holds its vision to be recognized as a world-class centre of excellence in the area of cardiovascular science and engineering. Having a research visit at the international level could be the added value for IJN-UTM CEC visibility, especially on the academic program, research expertise, consultation, and professional services offered by IJN-UTM CEC. It is also a golden opportunity for both parties, IJN-ÂUTM CEC and TUil in strengthening the networking and continuous collaboration.
Apart from visiting TUil, through Erasmus+ Mobility Program, Dr. Syafiqah Said in and Prof. -Ing. Dr. Eko Supriyanto does not miss the opportunity to enable industry engagement in Germany. Industry engagement is a way to break the gap between university and industry, ensure better employment of students, and bring in new revenue streams while supporting human capital development.
Having an impactful industry engagement could support the researchers and academia to produce research output that meets the industry requirement and has the potential to be commercialized in the global market. Promoting the research expertise of IJN-UTM CEC through Erasmus+ Mobility Program shall be one of the key responsibilities to lead research, human capital development, and professional service in the area of cardiovascular science and engineering, as well as upbringing IJN-UTM CEC, iHumEn, and UTM to a greater high.
