SITC has hosted a workshop titled “From Innovation, Intellectual Property, to Commercialisation” on August 27 2020 at BK 1, V01, School of Biomedical Engineering and Health Sciences (SBEHS). The objective of this workshop is to give exposure to SITC students and researchers on how to promote their products to the market and gain the copyright for their products.
The workshop was divided into three sessions. The first session was about the awareness of Intellectual Property, presented by Siti Zulfarina, a Research Officer at UTM Innovation and Commercialisation Centre (ICC). The second session was about IP management, presented by Nur Diyana, also a UTM ICC Research Officer. The third and final session was about turning ideas into innovation and marketing your technology, presented by Junaidi Said, the Chief Executive of Human Life Advancement Foundation (HLAF).
15 staff and students were in attendance. Also attending were the SITC Director, Dr. Muhamad Noor Harun, Deputy Director Dr. Hadafi Fitri, Dr. Najeb Jamaluddin, and Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Tariq.
