Speaker biography:
Prof. Dr. Satoshi Matsumoto received his M.Eng and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Tokyo in 1981 and 1984, respectively. He has almost 20 years of industrial/practical experience involving in the high voltage engineering group of Toshiba Corporation since 1984 until 2003. Prior joining Shibaura Institute of Technology in 2008 as a Professor, he was appointed as a visiting Professor at Kyushu Institute of Technology between 2003 and 2007. His professional field is high voltage engineering up to 1000kV, high voltage testing, partial discharge measurement, signal processing, electric field analysis, supercapacitor and material engineering. He was the Vice President of Power and Energy Society of the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan (IEEJ) from 2011 to 2013 and presently, as a Senior Member of IEEE and IEEJ.
