To fill the existing memorandum of understanding between Universitas Sriwijaya and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, on 2-4 January 2015, two IVAT staff members, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zolkafle Buntat and Dr. Muhammad Abu Bakar Sidik was invited by Universitas Sriwijaya, Palembang, Indonesia to deliver a lecture to the staff of the Faculty of Engineering of that university. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zolkafle Buntat presented a talk entitled “Ozone and Bio-medical Applications”. While Dr. Muhammad Abu Bakar gave a talk entitled ” Lightning protection and current research focused by each division in IVAT”. Also present at the talks were Professor Ir. Dr. Zainuddin Nawawi, Head of Laboratory of High Voltage and High Current (LTTPL) who is also Head of Doctor Programme in Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sriwijaya.
On the same occasion the representatives from IVAT also discussed about the prospects of a possible academic and research collaboration between the LTTPL and IVAT. In conclusion of the meeting, a memorandum of agreement has been proposed involving the transfer of knowledge and research.
