
Course Outline
Understanding the steps and procedures employed in a good electrical safety program requires and understanding of the nature of electrical hazards. It is crucial for the workers to understand the protective strategies to protect them from electrical hazards. This 1-day course is designed to give an overview of electrical hazards and will cover necessary aspect of safety issues related to high voltage and electrical safety. This will include regulatory and environmental requirements, general design considerations, application of switching and power equipment and safe grounding design.

SPEAKER
Dr. Zuraimy Adzis received the M.Eng and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2003 and 2012, respectively. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Electrical Power Engineering at the Faculty of Electrical Engi- neering, UTM. Since 2012, he has been the Deputy Director (Testing) of the Institute of High Voltage & High Current (IVAT), UTM. He is a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Elec- tronics Engineers (MIEEE) and also a Collective Member of the International Conference on Large High Voltage Electric Systems (CIGRE).
