We are excited to announce that the Institute of Bioproduct Development at UTM Johor recently hosted an in-depth two-day course on Emulsification, Encapsulation, and Immobilization Techniques specifically tailored for Nutraceuticals, Functional Foods, and Enzymes. This program was designed to provide participants with both theoretical insights and practical skills in the essential processes of phytochemical processing.

Course Highlights:

• Stability and Bioavailability of Lipid Delivery Systems: Participants explored the critical factors influencing the stability and bioavailability of lipid-based delivery systems. This included discussions on how these systems can improve the absorption and effectiveness of bioactive compounds.

• Hands-on Dissolution Studies: The course included practical sessions where participants engaged in dissolution studies to assess the release and bioavailability of active compounds in herbal products. This hands-on approach allowed attendees to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios, enhancing their understanding of how to optimize formulations for better efficacy.

• Immobilization Techniques: Attendees gained valuable experience in various immobilization techniques. These methods are crucial for enhancing the stability and reusability of enzymes and bioactive compounds, making them more effective in functional food applications.

Throughout the course, participants deepened their understanding of material selection and the various techniques involved in emulsification, encapsulation, and immobilization. By mastering these processes, they are now better equipped to enhance the bioavailability and stability of bioactive compounds in their future projects, ultimately contributing to the development of more effective nutraceuticals and functional foods.

This course not only provided participants with essential knowledge but also fostered collaboration and networking opportunities among professionals in the field. We look forward to continuing our mission of advancing bioproduct development through such educational initiatives.
