Mr. Mohd Sohaimi Abdullah holds a BSc in Technology Management from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Mr Sohaimi is working at Advanced Membrane Technology Research Center (AMTEC), UTM as a Research Officer. He has over 16 years of research and management experiences in the development of membrane technology for reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, ultrafiltration, membrane contactor and gas separation and research and development project management. He has been appointed as the Project Manager for the collaboration project with industries such as Petronas Research Sdn. Bhd. And Sime Darby Research Sdn. Bhd. in membrane technology development. The development of nanofibers and carbon nanostructured materials for energy related application is also of his special interest. He is the co-author of 18 refereed publications in international and national journals. He is also the co-inventor for 9 patent disclosures in Malaysian Patent in membrane system and designs. He has won over 17 awards as co-inventors in Malaysian Toray Award 2014, Malaysian Academic Award 2013 (Innovation & Commercialization Category), Malaysian Association of Research Scientist (MARS) Best of The Best Invention Award, 2005; Best of the Best Invention Award in Malaysia Technology Expo, 2008, Grand Prize Winner for the National Intellectual Property Award (Patent Category), 2009 and 2011, Winner for the National Innovation Award (Waste to Wealth Category) 2009 and 2010 and Special Award of Polish Invention and Rationalizers in Malaysia Technology Award (MTE 2011).
