National Nanotechnology Center Malaysia, Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC) will host the final round of the OLYMPIAD NANOTEKNOLOGI MALAYSIA COMPETITION (ONM 2018) NATIONAL LEVELS on 22 to 26 October 2018 at MIMOS Berhad. The ONM 2018 competition was held in collaboration with MIMOS Berhad as a Technical Partner and the Malaysian Solid State Science and Technology Association (MASS) Association acting as the National Scientific Committee. In the meantime, KRU Academy is also involved in the aspect of lodging among participants during the program.
Two of AMTEC’s students involve in this competition and are heading to the final. We are optimist to Nur Hashimah Alias and Nur Zhatul Shima Yahaya which also present Universiti Teknologi Malaysia will do their best to compete with other 27 participants.Â
The competition comprises nanotechnology talks in the Green Technology and Automotive Industry, Technical visit to MIMOS Berhad and Hi-Tech Instrument as well as Industry visit to Malaysian Green Technology Corporation. A total of 30 graduates from Bachelor’s degree to Doctor of Philosophy will compete in this competition. The purpose of the competition is to choose the National Champion to be trained as a preparation to form the national team to compete in the International Nanotechnology Olympiad (INO) by 2020.
This concept of this competition is problem solving using nanotechnology applications in groups. The theme for the ONM 2018 Competition is “Nanotechnology Applications for Green Transportation”. Good luck for all ONM 2018 participants!
