GAS ENGINEER AND GAS ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR COURSE
Introduction
A Unique course dedicated to gas engineering personnel. The only course of its kind in South East Asia. The most practical to gas engineering applications and theories. Covering both Natural Gas and LPG operation system.
Gas Supply Regulations 1997 (Gas Supply Act 1993)
“Every gas installation shall ben supervised by a competent person employed by the Gas Contractor who is carrying out the installation work”
Course Objective
To train professionals and engineers in gas engineering and related technology particularly on low and medium pressure reticulation systems (LPG and Natural Gas) for the housing, commercial and industrial areas in accordance to the Malaysian Gas Supply Act (1993) and Gas Supply Regulations (1997).
Course Overview
Conducted since 1986, More than 100 companies had sucessfully participated. Highly practical to suit with relevant gas installation practices. Lectures will be delivered by well qualified academicians, professinals and personnel’s from authority bodies that embodied broad experiences from the gas industry. Syallbus and curriculum constantly reviewed to meet industry requirements. over 100 lecture hours with comprehensive lecture materials. Course conducted on part time basic during weekends. Refreshment provided, Site visit will be arranged. Language conducted in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
Entry Requirements
The minimum entry requirement is a Diploma or Degree in any accredited engineering discipline from recognized institution.

Course Duration
The course will be on PART TIME basis. Class will be held on Saturdays and Sunday once in every two weeks. (Schedule to be given prior to registration). Classess will be held on Saturday (at 2.00 pm) and Sunday (from 9.00 am) once in every two weeks. The overall duration is estimated to be four to five months for part time basis
Examinations
Only candidates who fulfilled the attendance and payment criteria will be allowed to sit for assessment.
The assessment will be of two types:
- Closed Book Exams for Paper I, II, III, IV and V. Passing mark is 50% EXCEPT for Paper I with 60% compulsorry pass.
- Open Book Design Project for Modules 4 and 5. Candidates will be briefed about the project and expected to complete and submit the paper within on month.
Candidates will have to sit for the missed/failed exam paper during the next session enrollment.
Site Visits
Site visits to the gas installations and other relevant industries in Klang Valley or other nearby areas will be arranged. Candidates partiticipation in this activity is regarded as compulsory.
Site visit area included these several stations:                1. ​​Odorizer Station, Dengkel City Gate, Gas Malaysia Berhad   2. District & Service Station, Gas Malaysia Berhad , Seksyen 9, Putrajaya                                                     3. LPG Bulk Tank (Wangsa Walk, Wangsa Maju)​               4. LPG Manifold System (Kompleks Pernas Sogo)​
Project
To be submitted as part of the requirement for obtaining the certificate with passing mark 50%.
Certificate
Certificate of attendance will be endorsed by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Meanwhile, certificate of Competency will be issued by the Energy Comission of Malaysia (EC) after passing interview with EC with minimum 2 years of working experience in gas pipeline work or gas installation.
Attendance
Candidates shall attend not less that 75% of the lecture contact hours, failure of which may result in barring from sitting for assessments.

Certificate
Certificate of attendance will be endorsed by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) after passing all the required modules and papers and completing all payable fees.
Qualified successful candidates can apply for competency professional interview from the Energy Commission. (Subjected to Energy Commision approved) as stipulated in the ‘Malaysia Gas Supply Acts 1993 and Gas Supply Regulations 1997’.
Certificate of Competency will be issued by the Energy Comission of Malaysia (EC) after passing interview with EC with minimum 2 years of working experience in gas pipeline work or gas installation.
