TRAINING OF TRAINERS WORKSHOP ON COURSE ASSESSMENT FOR OUTCOME-BASED EDUCATION (OBE)

Assessment of student performance is an important part of OBE that determines whether students have achieved the desired outcomes. This workshop will highlight the importance of developing quality assessments at the course level that produce accurate assessment results and use the results for improvement. The main goal of this workshop is to prepare instructors to present the information on course assessment effectively, respond to questions from participants, and lead activities that reinforce learning.
Participants must be practitioners, successful in the field, and have completed some training workshops on assessment for Outcome-Based Education (OBE).
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
✅ Apply current practices in delivering a training on assessment of student learning and skills development.
✅ Deliver facilitative skills to promote learner engagement, reflective practice, critical thinking & skill acquisition.
✅ Use appropriate productive ways to manage training on all aspects of assessment for OBE.
✅ Initiate a plan of action to strengthen personal training and facilitation skill.

WORKSHOP ON COURSE ASSESSMENT IN OUTCOME-BASED EDUCATION (OBE)

Outcome-Based Education (OBE) is a student-centred approach to education. All aspects of the educational system are organised around what is important for students to be able to do successfully after going through the learning experiences. Assessment of student achievement is therefore an important part of OBE that determines whether students have achieved the desired outcomes.
In view of the shift in educational paradigm and the changing landscape, how can we design and implement effective assessments that reflect the full range of student learning? What to assess and how to assess it?
This worskhop focuses on assessing student learning at the course level. It emphasizes on the importance of developing high quality or effective assessments to produce accurate assessment results and to use the results for improvement. Preparing good quality assessments involves constructing relevant and meaningful assessments, as well as giving students effective feedback.
