CEE UTM will be conducting Outcome Based Education – Student Centred Learning Training on 8 – 11 February 2021 to 100 lecturers, most of whom are engineering educators, from universities in Central Java, Indonesia. The training was organised in collaboration with Universitas Diponegoro and Universitas Sebelas Maret. The training will be conducted online through the Webex meeting platform and other online mentoring system and tools to support training.
This training will be led by UTM experts in OBE and SCL, namely Prof. Dr. Khairiyah bte Mohd Yusof, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yudariah Mohd Yusof, Prof. Dr. Shahrin bin Mohammad, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Naziha binti Ahmad Azli, Prof. Dr. Fatin Aliah Phang binti Abdullah, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Syed Ahmad Helmi bin Syed Hassan, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sharifah Kamilah Bt Syed Yusof.
The speakers will be assisted by facilitators, namely Dr. Aziatul Niza bt Sadikin, Ir. Ts. Dr. Zaki Yamani Zakaria, Dr Nurzal Effiyana bt Ghazali, Dr. Nurul Aini binti Mohd Ahyan, Dr. Mahyuddin bin Arsat, Dr. Noraini binti Ibrahim, Dr. Zaharah binti Johari, Ir. Dr. Noor Nabilah binti Sarbini, and Dr. Norlina binti Paraman.
From this training, 20 potential trainers or champions will be selected from the participants who in the future, will perform training to other Indonesian lecturers. Consequently, a reflective community of practice of OBE and SCL will be developed among those lecturers.
This training is part of the project entitled Raising the Quality of Engineering Education in Indonesia, funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering, UK. This project aims at raising the quality of engineering education by providing training and mentoring to lecturers and ultimately developing a community of practice among the engineering lecturers in Indonesia.
Upcoming activities from this project include Classroom Evaluation Workshop and Program Evaluation Workshop. This project is expected to end in September 2022.
